This course is set up to meet the specific requirements of the "Forest School". The course is interactive and practical course with the emphasis on understanding the principles of immediate care for the ill or injured person in the area remote from the main school and meets the statutory requirements laid down by the DFES for Early Years Foundation Stage, Paediatric First Aid. The balance between practical and theory work encourages enthusiastic participation. The courses are ratified by a comprehensive role play session. The role plays are the best part of the course!

The course is run over two days with 12 contact hours including the role plays. Two certificates are awarded:- an "Appointed Persons" Certificate in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive (First Aid) Regulations 1981, and a "Forest First Aid" certificate. This part includes the requirements laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage 2007.
